The character known as "Cousin Niko" is Niko Bellic, the protagonist of Grand Theft Auto IV. He is a cynical, battle-hardened war veteran from Eastern Europe who comes to Liberty City seeking a fresh start and the "American Dream," spurred on by his cousin Roman Bellic's false claims of wealth. Upon arrival, Niko finds that Roman is actually a debt-ridden taxi driver, forcing Niko to use his military skills to protect his cousin and become embroiled in the city's dangerous criminal underworld.
