Alex Murphy was a dedicated Detroit police officer brutally murdered in the line of duty, only to be resurrected by the Omni Consumer Products corporation as a cybernetic law enforcer. Encased in near-indestructible titanium armor and driven by programmed directives, he relentlessly cleans up the crime-ridden streets of a dystopian future. Despite his heavy mechanical programming, Murphy constantly fights to reclaim his suppressed human memories, identity, and personal sense of justice.
