Set in 1938 Los Angeles, The Rocketeer follows stunt pilot Cliff Secord, who discovers a top-secret, high-tech jetpack stolen from industrialist Howard Hughes. Donning a sleek brass helmet and a leather jacket to hide his identity, Cliff becomes a reluctant pulp-era hero, battling Nazi spies and mobsters who want the technology for their own ends. Created by Dave Stevens, the story is a stylized, nostalgic tribute to the Saturday morning matinee serials of the 1930s and 40s.
