Vash the Stampede, also known as the Humanoid Typhoon, is a legendary gunman on the desert planet Gunsmoke. Despite a massive bounty on his head and a reputation for destruction, he is a staunch pacifist who refuses to kill. Wielding a powerful silver revolver and hidden biotechnological weaponry, Vash travels from town to town, striving to spread "love and peace" while outrunning his dark past and the chaos that follows him.
